I'm afraid being a completist is a (possibly) bad habit I've never quite been able to break. Though curiously, with only some characters; I will buy any book published which has Captain Britain or the 'real' JSA in it, for instance, but am not remotely bothered about Batman or the Fantastic Four, despite having no particular dislike for them and even having gone for long periods collecting them.

Being a completist is neither a goo thing nor a bad thing per se. I lack the resources (cash and storage) to be a true completist in any event, even if I wanted to - the closest I come is Mignola's Helboy stuff and even then I can live without buying Dark Horse Presents because of Dark Horses all encompassing re-print programme.

If I was goin to be a completist it would likely be creator based - Kaluta, Steranko, Wrightson, McKeever spring instantly to mind - but even there I find myself unwilling to see it through for various reasons (after Swamp Thing and Frankenstein why do I need The Cult, for example).

Oh, I wasn't saying The Cult was bad, just that I view it as an innessential purchase next to Wrightson's truly great stuff.

Kind of like Kirby's Demon compared to The New Gods or classic period Thor.

All a matter of personal taste, i guess. Give me Kamandi over the New Gods anyday...
