New "Justice Society" Series? Well, . . . Empty New "Justice Society" Series? Well, . . .

DC hasn't gone and announced a new Justice Society of America series yet, but they are going to be releasing a few Justice Society-connected one-shot comics for the upcoming Black Adam movie.

Here's part of the article from comicbook.com website:
comicbook.com wrote:DC Comics Announces Justice Society One-Shots Leading up to Black Adam Movie
By Russ Burlingame  - April 13, 2022 01:27 pm EDT

DC will launch a series of one-shots centered on the Justice Society of America, set in the world of DC Films and featuring characters to be seen in Black Adam. The first such special, coming in July, will be Black Adam – The Justice Society Secret Files: Hawkman #1, featuring a lead story from writer Cavan Scott, penciller Scot Eaton, and inker Norm Rapmund. A back-up feature centering on Adrianna Tomaz will be written by Bryan Q. Miller and feature art by Marco Santucci. In the film, Hawkman is played by Leverage star Aldis Hodge, while Adrianna (whose original superhero name was Isis, but that's unlikely to be used in the film) is set to be played by Person of Interest's Sarah Shahi.
Changes to the characters' origins in the 1990s and early 2000s gave Hawkman and Black Adam strong ties to ancient Egypt, and it's clear from the synopsis for the one-shot that at least some element of that will carry over, with Tomaz's story centering around museums and antiquities. Like the upcoming prequel series for The Flash, this story will bring in properties from the comics that may or may not make it into the movie, including Intergang and the Gentleman Ghost.
DC recently announced that Black Adam will get a solo comic series later this year, as well.

Sounds interesting Major! Have you ever read the Shazam! # 28 story, where Black Adam was introduced in the Dc Universe after Dc Comics had acquired the Fawcett heroes? Cool I have checked and that 35 issue series remains enterely unpublished here, but maybe it was collected in some tpb or "Omnibus" by Dc Comics? Question

New "Justice Society" Series? Well, . . . 1324010

I'm pretty sure I bought that when it originally came out about 45 years ago.

According to the GCD, it was included in Showcase Presents: Shazam #1 in 2007 (but that was a b&w collection)
New "Justice Society" Series? Well, . . . 28737810

And more recently collected in Shazam!: The World's Mightiest Mortal Volume 2 in 2020,
New "Justice Society" Series? Well, . . . 13596610
but that was released primarily to book stores / sellers because Diamond stopped distributing new releases around that time due to COVID outbreaks and shutdowns.

Well, we have a new JSA series confirmed for the near future, and in the meantime, the team plays a significant role in this month's Flash. Things are looking up...

New JSA story in DC's Halloween Special, though no doubt some people will be frothing at the mouth over Black Canary being present in 1944...

Well, I'm not exactly "frothing at the mouth", but I am annoyed by DC doing stuff like this without our knowing if this is now status quo or what. We have no idea what parts of the JSA's past are still "canon" or what revisions DC has made to their history. (Or is DC just ignoring the history of the JSA and letting writers do whatever they want thes days?)

From the other examples we've been seeing in books like Human Target and Batman: Fortress, it looks as though they're using the reintroduction of the multiverse to let writers just write without worrying about continuity in other books. There clearly still is a "main" continuity, but writers of self contained stories don't have to tie into it.

Somehow, I don't know if everybody who writes (or edits) for DC is aware of what this " 'main' continuity " is these days.
Remember, when Scott Snyder was using the JSA in Justice League, he appeared to have Wildcat as member in December 1941. And has anything further come up about Wonder Woman (Diana) being present at the New York World's Fair in 1939 as seen in Wonder Woman #750 (which would really screw with the last rewriting of her origin DC gave us at the start of Rebirth)?

No follow up on the Wonder Woman thing yet, as far as I can recall.
