I have high hopes. Gatiss is far better at writing about Who than he is at writing for it.

To do justice to Mr Gatiss, 'The Unquiet Dead' was good.

Spoiler:
Just a shame about 'The Idiot's Lantern', 'Victory of the Daleks' and 'Night Terrors'.

They should have just filmed Nightshade.

Doctor Who: Nightshade by Mark Gatiss was one of the better books in the Virgin New Adventures series. The principal supporting character was Edmund Trevithick, a retired actor who used to play Professor Nightshade in a Saturday evening sci-fi drama on BBC TV.

Nightshade is awesome. Baffles me why they haven't done a 2part adaptation. Surely it would have been a better option than, say, The Hungry Earth?!

I agree. And I could see it working really well with Matt Smith, even if it was originally intended as a seventh Doctor story. The two incarnations are similar enough.
