Rebellion Announces Limited Edition Zenith Reprint
Rebellion have announced that Grant Morrison's complete Zenith saga is to be released as a single hardcover reprint edition, limited to 1, 000 copies and retailing at £100. Surprising news, since the rights to Zenith have been in dispute for years with Morrison insisting that he and Steve Yeowell, not 2000AD, own the work, and rather oddly, there has been no confirmation that either creator has agreed to this reprint. Rebellion have said only that the creators have been "informed" of the decision; consent is not mentioned. And also rather oddly, Rebellion are selling the book, due out on December 1st but available for preorder from July 1st, directly through the 2000AD Online shop, not distributing it through Diamond (who are notoriously wary of any potential legal issues). All in all, you might be forgiven for thinking it's all looking slightly fishy. There may also be further complications in that the Zenith saga, of course, also included appearances by several IPC characters (notably Robot Archie) who Rebellion quite definitely do not own. Have Rebellion decided to just publish and be damned?

So, according to Wikipedia, it looks like it did get published . . . and there still may be more?tony ingram wrote:Rebellion have announced that Grant Morrison's complete Zenith saga is to be released as a single hardcover reprint edition, limited to 1, 000 copies and retailing at £100. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zenith_(comics)#Collected_editionsZenith was printed as a series of (out of print) trade paperbacks by Titan Books. However, on 29 May 2013, 2000 AD publishers Rebellion announced plans to re-print the entire series in a hardcover volume, limited to 1,000 copies. Priced at £100, the book was published on 1 December 2013, and was sold exclusively via their website.[8] A series of cheaper books of the series has been announced, commencing in late 2014.[9]

Yep, they went ahead with it, there was deafening silence from Morrison, so they now seem to feel they have a free hand. It's all rather odd.

Anyone have a link to buy it? I can't find one.
That said, I'm conflicted if Morrison doesn't want it published, he IS the creator. Anyone know if he's said anything at all?

At this point I have bought the first 3 (of 4) hardcovers, and am waiting for the last one to start. Being Morrison, I'm thinking it'll work better read all at once.

If you do, let us know what you think.
My fear is that it'll be too bland, simply due to all that's come since. I know the context of the 80's, I was there. I just think this is one that would have had more impact if I'd read it at the time. But, I want to read it, so I hope that's wrong.
