Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS

Absolutely loved this episode! I always like stories which explore the possibilities of the TARDIS, and this one didn't fail to deliver. So-the Eye of Harmony (or at least an Eye of Harmony) is actually on board the ship as per the TV Movie, the ninth Doctor's voice is heard, and Clara is just a normal girl-meaning that whatever caused her other selves to appear has yet to happen to her (I think)! Clever...

Shame about poor old Tricky being left still thnking he was a robot, though.

I was left with quite a few questions at the end of this episode, something I put down to the 42 minute format, which forces the story to whiz past at a rate of knots. Fortunately most of these have been answered (many by Tony) on another forum, although I am left wondering...

How the Doctor got outside the TARDIS when it was hauled aboard the salvage ship.

Why the Time Zombies behaved like "real" ones and chased people around, even though they were those people!

How someone could be fooled into thinking he was an android for any length of time. Didn't he have normal bodily functions - e.g. get hungry - and find that inserting a couple of AA batteries just didn't hit the spot?

How the rift in time happened to be exactly right to let the Doctor fix everything (OK this could just be a massive coincidence...was it explained somehow?)

Oh, and why the corridors in the TARDIS appear to have been designed for Daleks! A few cool space-age walls with inset circles wouldn't have gone amiss...

So quite fun, but as so often seems to be the case with the new Dr Who, "could do better!"

To answer the most obvious one-we were, in fact, shown Tricky drinking early in the episode, which I think with hindsight was a pretty big clue to his real nature (I recall thinking it odd at the time). I would guess he was effectively 'conditioned' not to think about the seeming incongruity of it. The elder brother tried to deflect the Doctor's question about why Tricky needed a suit and respirator by saying that he had a "flesh covering" that would burn up just like the rest of them, so I suspect Tricky had been given the same line, told that he was a biomechanoid or somesuch. Anyway, he's still not as thick as Guy Crayford in The Android Invasion...

Is this series starting to turn around for you then, Cody? That's two episodes in a row you've been impressed with, isn't it?

It's something of a record lately, I'll admit.

Remains to be seen if they can keep it up, I'm dubious about those kids in Nightmare and very dubious about this Doctor's name business...

Yeah, kids in TV dramas can be very annoying - these two are already irritating me - and if we find out the Doctor's name it'll destroy the mystique.

I'm guessing neither of you were members of the Wesley Crusher Fan Club...

Wesley wasn't a proper full-on kid. These two are still in primary school, or in the first two years of secondary school at the very most. Wesley was old enough to be an ensign (whatever that is).

It's either a flag or the junior officer who traditionally carried it.
