Golden Age Daredevil (Bart Hill)
First appearance: Silver Streak Comics #6 (September 1940)
By the following issue (cover-dated January 1941), the character's costume coloring had changed and he was speaking normally.
The character of Daredevil continued to be featured until 1950.
Then, in 1964, Marvel Comics came out with:
Years later, while the Lev Gleason-version of the character was available in the public domain, the character's name wasn't. So, some comic book companies got "creative" in how they used the character in new material.

Marvel also recycled the original costume for Gemini.
