Very much so. Apparentyly the BBC gave him Tomb of the Cybermen to watch and he just latched onto that portrayal.

Thank god they didn't give him RTDs stuff.

He was quite keen to be different from Tennant, from what he said in an interview awhile back. I think that's the way to go with a new Doctor in any case-stops people making too many comparisons.

I wish i could watch it with my family, but you'll have my brother making stupid "durr" noises or saying how bad the special effects are, then my mum deliberatley misunderstanding him and shouting that he should leave the room if he "dazan't lyike it". Then she'll start going "wot a layd of ole rabbish". So i always watch it behind locked doors XD

I like the Trickster but I'm not sure he'll ever graduate to the parent show, since he's effectively Sarah Jane's nemesis.

For some reason, he always reminds me of the Shadow from The Armageddon Factor. I wonder if he's an agent of the Black Guardian, too?

I only got into Who in 2006. And now I am working my way through the classic series IN ORDER, because I want to do it PROPERLY.

Your dedication is its own reward. I'd award you the Seal of Rassilon, but only if you promise to give it fresh fish every day!

lol at my first review. Shows you how much RTD poisoned my mind.

TEH is a fabulous episode. Smith is the best Doctor since Sylv. Finally, after too long, the Doctor is back in Doctor Who.

The only thing that I would quibble about there, is that to me, it would be 'the best Doctor since McGann'. Poor Paul, still tarnished by his connection to what The Utterly Useless Encyclopedia insisted on calling 'The US Telemovie With the Pertwee Logo'...

He might have been alright but there wasn't enough in The TVM one way or the other for me, really.

You really should check out some of the audios, Cody-you'd be glad you did, honestly. They've been running on BBC7 for the last couple of Sunday nights, there may be more to come.

If visual's what does it for you.

Depends on what you're doing - audio is great when you're designing pages or drawing...not so good when you're writing. I like both visual and audio - it stimulates the senses. Do you only watch silent movies, Cody?? affraid

I always think science fiction works better on audio. The special effects are more impressive.

Yes - and books are good too. But I guess it depends on one's imagination; the sights and sounds in your head must be better than anything...

I tried a couple of the audios, I just can't get into them.

Not interested enough in McGann to really care.

Seems McGann is the Marmite of Doctor Who: you either consider him an unsung great or diregard him altogether. He's definitely in my top five.

The Daleks are overrated. Remember, they didn't even appear in the show between July 1967 and January 1972, and Tom Baker only fought them twice in seven years. The Daleks do not a Doctor make.
