Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu
First appearance: Special Marvel Edition #15 (December 1973)
<NOTE: prior to issue #15, Special Marvel Edition had been a reprint book starring Thor for the first few issues, then Sgt. Fury & the Howling Commandos.>
With issue #17, the book would change it's tile to Master of Kung Fu.
With issue #20, Doug Moench began writing the book (though Gerry Conway is the credited writer for about the first half of that issue.)
And from The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe #14 (March 1984),
NOTE: The last issue of Master of Kung Fu (#125) was cover-dated June 1983.

Re: Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu
Shang-Chi has been a cult character in Italy too, with his comic book going strong from 1974 to 1979 (1st series); it was an anthology, including also titles like Sons of the Tiger (from Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu series), Iron Fist (from Marvel Premiere, in the beginning and then IF Vol. 1), Luke Cage Power Man, some issues of Doctor Strange (which came from another anthology of the same publisher which had already closed) and Dracula from Tomb of Dracula too!
The second series was short lived, since it lasted only 5 issues in 1980, and last issue published Master of Kung-Fu # 69, Luke Cage # 49 and Tomb of Dracula # 46.

Interesting stopping point for the Power Man series since issue #50 is the start of the Power Man and Iron Fist run.Barry_Allen wrote: . . .
