Larry Steele's feature ran until Detective Comics #63 (May 1942) but did skip some issues (like Detective Comics #27 and #38).

Maybe because in Detective Comics # 27 there was the debut of a character who would become... so much important and then very famous in the whole world?

Well, I doubt that was the case at the time.
And, not only did he miss out on Batman's debut, but he got skipped over when Robin debuted as well.

* Detective Comics #43 - #63
