Re: Favourite DC Comics Character (and Why)
There is no debate-it's "centre". Because "center" is not a word.

That appears to be an American dictionary, and therefore invalid.MajorHoy wrote:http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/centertony ingram wrote:There is no debate-it's "centre". Because "center" is not a word.

Our boys would call in Billy Whizz from the Beano. He'd cause Flash to trip over a banana skin and humorously end up falling into a convenient child's paddling pool.Lucy McGough wrote:The Flash would be moving too fast to target.

Re: Favourite DC Comics Character (and Why)
Yes. You have a man who talks to fish, a man who fires boxing glove arrows and a woman who looks good in fishnets. I can't see any of them really standing up to even Judge Dredd on his own for long (come on, based in America or not, he's a British character), and come to think of it, Dredd has given Batman a run for his money more than once. OK, you also have Superman and the rest of the big guns, but we have Captain Britain, Psylocke, Johnny Alpha, Marshal Law, Death's Head, Axa and a surprising number of others who are far more adept at fighting dirty than them. Nobility and the ability to pose only get you so far.Silogramsam wrote:

Re: Favourite DC Comics Character (and Why)
no one fights like Batman and Green Arrow (remember Oliver's line in Identity Crisis - the JLA teach you to fight). Does Dredd breath in water? Isn't the lady in fishnets that top martial artist in the world, behind Shiva maybe plus she has that sonic thing going? Hawkman can fight (and win) with anyone (heck, Hawkwoman can for that matter). And forget these guys - we have an adopted Kryptonian and an adopted Martian. Heck, if you want dirty fighters, we have Deathstroke.

Re: Favourite DC Comics Character (and Why)
Captain Britain would pluck Hawkman like a chicken, and Black Canary's martial arts wouldn't help her against the vampiric abilities of Durham Red or the flashing blade of Axa (who tends to flash stuff other than her blade, too, which would probably reduce your big blue boy scout to jelly).

OK, you're threatening us with all powerful artifacts capable of restructuring reality, now? Fine. That's it. I'm sorry to have to do this, but you've left me no choice but to call in the one being nobody and nothing in any reality, real or fictional, can stand up to for long. And be afraid, little man. Because...
