As reviews go, that's certainly succinct.

Don't know how they do it, but it's on veetle.com right now.
If Superman the Movie made you believe a man can fly, this movie makes you believe super-heroes are real.

If they were real, they would have gone back in time to prevent the unholy trinity of Lee, DiDio, & Johns.

For whatever reason, I'm just not excited about this. I don't know. I just have no feeling towards it.

Re: THE AVENGERS
I'm looking forward to seeing it, but I'd be more excited if they'd used more of a classic Avengers lineup rather than basing it on the cartoon. Black Widow? Why not the Scarlet Witch? Why no Hank and Jan? And why no sign of my second favourite Avenger, the Vision?*

Yeah, I am disappointed about no Giant Man. Or Ant Man, though I'd prefer Giant.

Perhaps if this movie does well enough at the box office they'll turn up in a sequel. Therefore, we must all go and watch the movie!
(Why does Google's spellchecker not like the word 'movie'?)

Maybe Avengers III (if we ever get that far) will feature the Vision and Ultron. I think it's an open secret who the villain in II is going to be.

Fine. Cackle enigmatically, like your namesake Anthony Ainley. See if I care

Re: THE AVENGERS
Uh, is DC trying to cash in on The Avengers? I just noticed how much the JL's first story arc parallels Avengers.
Which goes to show you that Geoff Johns has never had an original idea in his life. This takes "make mine Marvel" to the extreme. JL is basically the Avengers movie. And because Thanos is teased at in the end, DC hauls out Darkseid. Johns is like the Borg. He assimilates everything into the DCU. He did that with Superman the Movie, The Walking Dead, and now Avengers.

Re: THE AVENGERS
I saw it Saturday night. Went out with friends, and since I drove one of them paid. Otherwise I'd have held out, since I'm on a "no-DC, and no-Marvel" kick.
That said, it was a really well-done movie. Funny, tense, well-acted, with an appeal to non-comics audiences as well as to those who knew the pasts of the characters. I didn't stay for the 2nd post-credits piece, but the "reveal" of the next villain was nice.

Re: THE AVENGERS
You didn't miss much when it comes to the second bit, Mbast1. I'm sure you knew that already, which I guess is kind of the point. Once you've heard the joke nothing's really added by seeing it play out on screen.
Oh, and Randy! I thought of you and your theory while reading "The Culling" storyline in Teen Titans the other day. Why? Well, while I admit that I haven't seen "The Hunger Games" yet I DO kind of know what it's about. . .as, I suspect, did Scott Lobdell and Tom DeFalco when they dreamed up this storyline. It's different enough that I wouldn't call it a rip-off, but it's close enough that I think the similarities are not a coincidence.

I read what it was, and yes, I can see why it doesn't need to be seen. Sounds funny, but I will live.
