A street in Dundee might be renamed Bash Street:

Oh, I do hope so! That would be brilliant!
I think Dundee already has bronze statues of Dennis the Menace, Minnie the Minx and Desperate Dan somewhere, but Bash St. as a real street would be a real tribute!

You wouldn't like to live there though, would you? Imagine the behaviour of the kids! Very Happy

I think I'd take living in Bash St. over Marvel's New York or DC's Gotham any day. Though home insurance must be a nightmare in all of them!

Yep-Bash Street was unveiled on 10th December 2012! It's in the West Marketgait area of Dundee.

Is it still safe to walk there, or did the young hooligans take it over?

I believe the city is quite proud of it. They've probably declared it off limits to under eighteens.

Kids these days won't have heard of the Beano. They'll all be on their iPads and Samsung Galaxies.

Actually, the last I heard, The Beano still sells around 32, 000 copies per week.

Does it have an on-line digital version?

They only starred in one issue . . .

and it was Jack Kirby trying to re-create some of the kid gangs he and Joe Simon had had success with in the 1940s and 1950s.

The Dingbats actually returned in Adventures of Superman during the electric Superman storyline, and also (in one panel) in Hero Hotline.

I was on a bit of a hiatus from comic book collecting at the time, so my exposure to him was thankfully limited.

No doubt DC will revisit him eventually. No bad idea stays buried forever.

How do you make Superman more cool? Make him electric! Electricity's cool!

(And so is long hair.)
