For Plastique and Multiplex? I'd name them in the grand tradition of the Legion of Super-Heroes: Detonating Damsel and Duplicate Dumbo.Lucy McGough wrote:Their biggest drawbacks are their names. Why don't they get new names? I bet you guys could think of better ones.
Or possibly Multiple Muppet.

There are definite hints, now that episodes are happening on E-2. It's still looking fun. And there's a HINT that things might not be as they appear with Jay! And, also that this multiverse includes the 1990 Flash, and the current Supergirl show!

The 90s version!!!? Goood grief. Jay had better not turn out to be a villain, though...Mbast1 wrote:tony ingram wrote:Am I being totally unrealistic in hoping that there might be more heroes on Earth 2 when Barry finally gets there? Hourman or Sandman, maybe?

In the "tunnel" through which they traveled to E-2, you saw glimpses of other Earths, including one where the 90's version lived.
As to Jay, I wait to see what does happen, but it could turn out to be very interesting.

I really wasn't impressed with this show when it started, but I must admit, it's drawn me in. A bit like Agents of SHIELD.

For me, AoS is like Once Upon a Time, where it's good a lot of the time, but then sometimes it's pretty boring.

OK, somebody please tell me Jay Garrick is not actually Zoom...
I was convinced Jay was the man in the iron mask.

OK, got it: Henry Allen rather less than subtly revealed that his mother's maiden name was Garrick. The man in the iron mask is indeed going to turn out to be the real Jay Garrick of Earth Two...and he will also turn out to be the Earth Two counterpart of Barry Allen's dad!

Do they call it a Hooniverse when it makes you wonder, "Hoo on Earth is that?"

I reached the same conclusion. That would definitely make up for the Zoom thing.
Oh, and Tony, check out DC's Legends of Tomorrow if you haven't already. Or at least the last five minutes of the last episode.

I think we in the UK still have two weeks to go before the last episode, though I could be wrong.Sam_Vimes wrote:tony ingram wrote:OK, got it: Henry Allen rather less than subtly revealed that his mother's maiden name was Garrick. Close, so very close. But I LOVED this ending. I really did. This season bothered me at first, but this so very much worked out for the better.

Re: Flash television show
It really did! Earth Two on TV is Earth Three from the comics and vice versa, so from the POV of comics fans the world we thought was Earth Two was the horrible, evil dominated Earth Three all along. Brilliant!
And I've just seen Flash's guest appearance on Supergirl, and loved that too!

It appears the JSA will be appearing in DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Hopefully, with Jay!

Re: Flash television show
Now confirmed that the title of the first episode of season three is 'Flashpoint'. Also, all the regulars are back, which I guess means that in the revised timeline, Earth One's Harrison Wells is still alive and hasn't been replaced by Thawne. Also, John Wesley Shipp will be seen as both Henry Allen and Jay Garrick.

I'm currently reading Shakespeare's plays about Henry VI, which are basically all about the Wars of the Roses, where everybody is called Edward and keeps switching sides, and all the nobles are named after counties...
...but I swear the Flash television show is much more complicated!

I don't think it counts as an explanation if the person you're talking to doesn't have the intellectual wherewithal to understand. It's more of a monologue.

I didn't miuch like Flashpoint or its fallout, but given how much I like Flash, I'm hoping it'll be fun!

I think my favourite part was where, with Carter Hall missing, they turned Fel Andar into Carter Hall Jnr in order to explain the otherwise impossible presence of Katar Hol in stories set before he'd been reintroduced. I though DC's mission statement at the time was to simplify continuity...

Right! I only caught that later, in that I'd seen reference to it, but I went back to find the issues. I thought it was a clever way to deal with it, but yeah, what a mess.

Re: Flash television show
See, I think a cleverer approach would have been to not create the problem in the first place. Why couldn't they just have stuck to the original plan and had the Hawkworld mini be a flashback story? Did we really need a reimagined version of a character who'd already been reimagined?Mbast1 wrote:tony ingram wrote:I think my favourite part was where, with Carter Hall missing, they turned Fel Andar into Carter Hall Jnr in order to explain the otherwise impossible presence of Katar Hol in stories set before he'd been reintroduced. Well, sometimes you're stuck trying to make what's in front of you work. Yes, making Hawkworld the past would have been so much smarter, but I don't know who said no to that. Then the authors had to deal with it.
Plus, everyone has to be reimagined all the time...
Did you ever read Void Indigo? I have all the issues (the GN and the two issues published) but I've not read them. I read they were originally from a proposal for Hawkman, but I don't know how well done they are.

I read the Void Indigo graphic novel, wasn't impressed, and never read the actual series. I was never aware that it was a proposed Hawkman pitch before today!
