Thirteenth Doctor
Yeah, so now there IS a thread.
Actually, I enjoyed the season. It wasn't perfect, but neither was Capaldi's (to me), so I'm going to keep watching. This Doctor was fun, smart, weird, and her companions were interesting. Looking forward to more.

Re: Thirteenth Doctor
I'm afraid that in 45 years as a fan, I have never felt this negative about the show before, not even during the Russell T Davies era (which I hated most of). To me, Whittaker's character just isn't the Doctor, and the writers seem more interested in pushing their own agendas than in telling stories. They also seem to be largely ignoring the show's history. A shame.

I quite enjoyed Jodie Whittaker's Doctor.
My problems with season 11 had to do with weak writing and too many companions.
Yaz was very underused.

Re: Thirteenth Doctor
I think that was inevitable. In In a multi-part serial spread over several weeks, like the original series used to have, three companions can work. But in a 45 minute standalone episode, there just isn't the room for them. Chibnall seems not to have considered that when he decided to try to go back to the original 1963 set-up.karatattoo wrote:I quite enjoyed Jodie Whittaker's Doctor.

I don't know how fans were reacting there, but here, many were complaining they were tired of seeing the Daleks and Cybermen over and over again, and cheered when Chibnall stated that neither adversary would appear in season 11.
However, by the time season 11 was half over, these same "fans" were complaining that the Daleks and Cybermen hadn't shown up yet.

Re: Thirteenth Doctor
I think what rankled was that he seemed to have decided to completely divorce the show from its past history, there were no returning characters at all. That's pretty much unheard of.karatattoo wrote:I don't know how fans were reacting there, but here, many were complaining they were tired of seeing the Daleks and Cybermen over and over again, and cheered when Chibnall stated that neither adversary would appear in season 11.
