I have to be candid- not really catching `on` too well with the new Torchwood! The second episode in my eyes was mostly `padding` To take up virtually one episode with the Plane flight rather bored me.

Only my personal viewpoint!

I tend to agree. Episode 1 wasn't bad (though Jack and Gwen seem to be relegated to supporting roles) but episode two was basically fifty minutes of nothing in particular. And I really don't care about the American characters...

My view is that this series is really tailored for American viewer habits! US viewers seemingly happy to watch shows like `Lost` `Heroes` `The Event` all of which I left after a few eps due to such obvious `padding`

I really loved Torchwood when it was single (or double) contained eps each adventure! The previous Torchwood series (The `abducted` children) was-for me- just dragged out and rather boring by the end. Sadly, i'm finding same this series! I just cannot stick with series that are shaped like this i'm afraid! my loss-but there it is!

If it's dragging now, I hate to think what it'll be like by episode ten...

Well, Tony- it is dragging for me! but that may just be my lack of attention span. If others find it OK, well and good! I wish it well, but I do admit I found ep 2 somewhat less than enthralling! oh dear!

Never mind, Alan. Only another month and Doctor Who will be back...

Then we can all be baffled again instead of bored! Very Happy

Its just something with me! I do find it hard to follow storylines stretched over more than four 30min episodes! Hence my bieng `lost` with the themes in the Dr Who series that are now bieng expanded over more than one season now (The crack in the Universe!)

I have to consider many fans love the extended stuff-but I really can't stay with it!

At least with Dr Who - although it too has a `long theme` you do get some self contained stories within that which I can follow better!

If the only future for the Torchwood series is these `long themed` efforts- they're going to leave me behind. But! I don't begrudge any fans who enjoy that style! Lucky old them! Smile

Judging by last night's episode, they seem to be just treading water. For three weeks now, precisely nothing has happened to further the plot.
