Leonard Nimoy RIP

Leonard Nimoy has died aged 83. Somehow the world is a darker place.

I spent yesterday pretty much in shock. I mean, yeah, he was 83 and given recent new reports I really did expect it, but I thought that was just doom-and-gloom from everything that's going on in my personal life.
I am profoundly sad. I think, here, I can admit how important Star Trek was to me, and Spock in particular. All three of the triad were vital to me growing up, and now two are gone. Just very sad.

Shatner is the same age! That's unbelievable. I find it difficult to think of either of them as being in their eighties.

I know, I keep thinking of them as being just a little older than they were when the show was originally on.

That makes sense. Though oddly enough, I have no trouble remembering that Tom Baker is over eighty now, and I watch him in his prime all the time.

Then again, my Mom is 84, so it's a little easier for me to accept that they were that old, too.

That's probably true to some extent, but I've seen them get older. I watched Shatner on Boston Legal, and he looked older. And Nimoy was in the 2 new Star Trek movies. So I could see it. Maybe I just don't want to believe it.
As with MASH, I want the actors from that to never get older and never die. But they keep doing it anyway.
