Golden Age Merry, Girl of a Thousand Gimmicks (Merry Pemberton)
First appearance of Merry Pemberton: Star Spangled Comics #81 (June 1948), in the Star-Spangled Kid (and Stripesy) feature.
Isn't it amazing how clever Sylvester is?
Right away, he realizes that when his father says "sister", that meant "a girl"!
And what boy wouldn't want a monogrammed silk handkerchief as a birthday present?
(Of course, that "gift" is going to lead to a whole lotta trouble for Sylvester!)
And what happens is that, quite quickly, The Star-Spangled Kid is going to have his feature taken over by dear, sweet Merry!
