BATMAN: THREE JOKERS #1
Thirty years after Batman: The Killing Joke changed comics forever, Three Jokers reexamines the myth of who, or what, The Joker is and what is at the heart of his eternal battle with Batman. New York Times bestselling writer Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok, the writer/artist team that waged the “Darkseid War” in the pages of Justice League, reunite to tell the ultimate story of Batman and The Joker!
After years of anticipation starting in DC Universe: Rebirth #1, the epic miniseries you’ve been waiting for is here: find out why there are three Jokers, and what that means for the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime. It’s a mystery unlike any Batman has ever faced!

So far, it's a fascinating mystery. There actually do seem to be three genuine Jokers, at least until this first issue's final page, but how can they all be real? Also, Bruce still seems to be having conversations with Alfred, who's supposed to be dead!!?

Don't forget, this thing was first planned / written before they killed off Alfred.tony ingram wrote:So far, it's a fascinating mystery. I liked the artwork, but it felt like there was too much padding at the beginning.
And what's up with Babs and the treadmills? (She's not the bionic woman!)

I'm actually wondering if he's hallucinating that Alfred is there.MajorHoy wrote:Don't forget, this thing was first planned / written before they killed off Alfred.tony ingram wrote:So far, it's a fascinating mystery. All may depend on whether the grave markers ever get fixed or not.tony ingram wrote:I'm actually wondering if he's hallucinating that Alfred is there.MajorHoy wrote:Don't forget, this thing was first planned / written before they killed off Alfred.tony ingram wrote:So far, it's a fascinating mystery. Bought this last Saturday but just got around to reading it last night/early this morning. Still confusing as to if/how this may (or may not?) fit in with other Bat-books DC publishes. (Like when did Babs last wear that Batgirl outfit? I think it was before she switched to the Burnside look back in 2014?)
Also wonder why Johns is including
- Spoiler:
- Joe Chill
Personally, I thought he was dead these days, but there were long stretches in the past when I had stopped paying attention to such trivialities . . .
Still have Book Three to read, but whether Geoff Johns will wrap this up in a satisfying way or not in that last part remains to be seen.

Re: Batman: Three Jokers (3-issue series)
Previously,
Well, I'm still unsure of if/how/why this is part of DC's "official continuity" for Batman or if it's more of an Imaginary/Elseworlds-type of stand-alone tale of what could have been.
Too many things just don't match what's been going on in the Batman stories these days, and I still wonder why the bit about three different Jokers seemed like such a shocking revelation based on what Bruce told Alfred on the next-to-last page of the story.
At least the artwork was nice.
