RIP Gary Leach Empty RIP Gary Leach

According to Warren Ellis's newsletter, Gary Leach died recently. I knew his work from Marvelman, but he seems to be someone whose work I should know more. So many great artists and writers in the world about whom I know shamefully little.

Garry was a great talent and a lovely bloke. He used to frequent the same comic shop as me in the nineties and was incredibly gracious to his fans, as well as having truly atrocious taste in shorts, which he wore almost constantly. He also had a diverse body of work that took in 2000 AD and DC'S Hitman as well as Warrior.

R.i.p. Garry, of course he will be always remembered for Marvelman Cool but I loved Hitman too, It was fun and very well drawn; I used to have a comic book subscription to that series.

It surely was! RIP Gary Leach 1f603 Luckily the whole series was collected in a three issue (Big) Digest series by PlanetaDeAgostini when they were the Dc Comics licensee in Italy several years ago; last year Panini has reprinted it in the "normal" HC format always in three volumes too, much more expensive (€ 40-42.00 each), of course!

After what you and Tony said, I looked online. Can find almost none of the Hitman series. But, I'll keep looking.

Looks like DC came out with a tpb collection Hitman's Greatest Hits in 2019. It was listed as available on amazon.com when I checked.
