Looks like DC is rebooting again.
Glad I left with the New 52.

Can I ask for a clarification of what you mean by "Looks like DC is rebooting again"?Spektre wrote:Glad I left with the New 52.
They had planned to do something a few years ago referred to as "5G", but that got nixed and Dan DiDio got the boot.
There's the "Dawn of DC" these days, but nothing has been said about that being a full-scale "reboot".
(And wasn't April Fools Day yesterday, not today?)

Dawn of DC is what I was referring to.
Does DC even need to claim "Full scale reboot" anymore. They cannot keep their story straight past a year or two recently.

So, how is "Dawn of DC" suppose to be a "reboot"?Spektre wrote:Dawn of DC is what I was referring to.

Re: Looks like DC is rebooting again.
This to start.
"The back story is really interesting as it messes with the Dawn of the DCU timeline A TON. Based on the continuity, Jon still hasn’t gotten the Jacket suit as of post-crisis but has it hear. In the previews of Lazarus Island, it seems like Jon will be using the suit from Infinite Frontier versus the new suit. This means the continuity of Failsafe has become even more disasterous. My best guess is Dark Crisis —> Action Comics #1050 —> Lazarus Planet —> Failsafe —> Dawn of the DCU/Batman Vol. 2. This list is the only “sensible” continuity, but even then there’s some big questions about the JL members including Green Arrow being alive here and the JL being a thing. As such Failsafe would have to occur before Dark Crisis. So the best guess than is that Batman activates Failsafe which leads to his “death.” He then goes to the multiverse. While in the multiverse, he is teleported by the JLI to fight the Dark Army where he “dies” again. After the events of Dark Crisis, he comes on Earth-0 where Superman’s Identity is rehidden and Robin is controlled by Nezha. The events of Batman v. Superman/Lazarus Planet play out and Batman somehow “dies” again which takes us into this back story. The image in Dark Crisis would then have to either be the second “death” to Failsafe or the Summer Batman event Knight[REDACTED]. The only other “working solution” is that Failsafe occurs in two different worlds in the multiverse or that the timeline accidentally split in two. The reality is that DC made some big continuity errors that are going to be very hard to explain."
"More Reboots!
We’ve gotten Superman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, JSA, Doom Patrol, Batman, Hawkman, Flash, Cyborg, and Shazam with confirmed reboots coming. Other franchises expected this year include Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Swamp Thing, and the New Gods with various other options including Magic, Titans, the “newest generation team” of Yara, Jon, Jace, Jess, Damian, and Jo, something more Cosmic, Blue Beetle, Black Adam, Doctor Light, Dreamer, Martian Manhunter, and Sideways."

Re: Looks like DC is rebooting again.
From Comicbook,com
"The upcoming "Dawn of DC" reboot will offer all kinds of new status quos for the DC characters – and this one is certainly an unexpected twist on Aquaman's lore. The Trench is a set of monsters that were introduced as a monstrous vision of what the people of Atlantis could become – now Aquaman could dip into X-Men vibes, with Arthur trying to lead a group of unique (and potentially dangerous) people that the world hates and fears. And if The Trench can't reclaim their humanity both internally and socially, Aquaman could find himself being the leader of a truly wild tribe. "

Re: Looks like DC is rebooting again.
I think they're confusing the terms "reboot" and "relaunch".Spektre wrote:From Comicbook,com
