how to find Old British Comics in London?
Coming from France I will be in London in mid December and I will have some hours for one of my favorite things, shopping (physically) for comics. I always go to the usual suspects (FP, Gosh!), but apart Orbital Comics perhaps, I always end up in store where the British Comics section is only made of a few recent Rebellion reprint (at best). And when one's ask for some old 2000 AD or others newsstands comics, 9 time out of 10 one's obtains this response .
So perhaps someone on this board can point out some nice book stores in London where I could find old copies of 2000 AD, old Titan Books GN, Battle, Misty etc.. Thanks in advance!

I have avoided London since moving away from it twelve years ago, so I'm rather out of the loop. But if you find yourself able to visit Ipswich, I have probably a few hundred assorted old 2000AD's and other comics from the seventies and eighties I'd be happy to unload...

Ipswitch, Suffolk ? Ipswitch where Pat Mills is from? Ipswitch which according to the latter (in Defoe and Claudia) is the source of Evil?
Seems nice.
Thank you Tony, I doubt I will ever go sooner or later to this part of England, but never say never..

Actually, the last I heard Pat was living in Essex, about twenty miles from me. As for Ipswich, it's only an hour from London (Liverpool Street). But much nicer.
Anyway, feel free to PM me a list of any 2000ADs you need and I'll see what I've got.

Will probably do that after my trip, thanks. Yes Pat lives in Essex but I have read somewhere that he was born in Ipswich.

Another Ipswich connection to the world of comics/cartoons is Carl Giles, the famous newspaper cartoonist. There's a bronze statue of Grandma, Giles's most famous character, standing in the town centre looking up at the building where he worked.

That's the problems with my last London trips, I'm there for only a couple of days, and only got a few hours to shop for comics. I hope someday I will be able plan a longer trip in order to visit other places in your country
