Torchwood US?
Potentially exciting or distressing news (depending on what's actually hapening): Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood is set to be remade in the US for the Fox network (yes, the same Fox network responsible for the less than successful 1996 Doctor Who TV Movie) and it has not been ruled out that John Barrowwman might be in it. Leaving aside the dubious history of US remakes of British shows, it's unclear what this development could mean for the future of the not-as-yet-recommissioned original Torchwood. Are we looking at an American spin-off set in continuity with the original, a straight remake with no connection to Doctor Who, or *shudder* a flat out replacement which will see Cardiff's team of alien fighters transplanted to the States, doubtless to be axed after half a season and then lost in a limbo of complicated contract shenanigans for years, much as Doctor Who itself was? The jury still seems to be out...

If you were just talking about the first two series', I'd agree. But I thought Torchwood: Children of Earth was really gripping stuff. Quality drama.felneymike wrote:They're welcome to it, load of rubbish.

No, but that was a bonus. The ending was quite harrowing though, even for me.Hourglass wrote:tony ingram wrote:If you were just talking about the first two series', I'd agree.
