George Perez Hospitalized

Veteran comics artist George Perez has been hospitalized and undergone surgery following a heart attack. In typically classy style, George has made a statement thanking his fans for their support over the years and apologizing for disappointing any of them by not making it to the East Coast Comic Convention! Hopefully he'll be back on his feet soon...

Oh, wow. I hope he's going to be ok.

He seems to be doing OK, and taking the whole thing very philosophcally. He said in the same statement that he's just thankful that, unlike many other artists, he's pretty well set up financially to cover the healthcare costs (I gather he has a pretty good deal worked out with DC as regards royalties).
