Spear of Destiny: Should It Return to DC's WWII History?
Back in the days before Flashpoint, when DC still had the JSA with its Golden Age / 1940s history, DC had used an artifact known as the Spear of Destiny to explain why (Golden Age / Earth-2) Superman and the like hadn't just ended the threat of Hitler and the Nazis early during the war.
If/when DC ever gets around to bringing back the original JSA (and possibly other Golden Age heroes), and if they still have a history of publicly operating during the days of WWII, should DC also bring back Hitler's control of the Spear of Destiny as an explanation why many of DC's most powerful heroes were not overseas fighting to bring the war to an earlier end?

Yes, they should. I always liked that explanation.

This is why I loved the All-Star Squadron. All. Those. Characters!

How could any villain stand a chance?

Well, to be fair, some of them were relatively useless against any major threat. I mean, Air Wave's thing was roller skating along telephone wires to get to crime scenes...Lucy Ingram wrote:How could any villain stand a chance?

I've never seen that before! I used to collect Weird War, but seem to have missed that issue...

I never bought a copy myself, but I had previously seen it mentioned before. And there's more to the story, too.tony ingram wrote:I've never seen that before! I used to collect Weird War, but seem to have missed that issue...
Also, in case you missed it, the story was credited as being written by Steve Englehart (who I always tend to associate with the expansion of the Manhunters in his Justice League of America run around that same time period).
