Nearly 40 years before Felicia Hardy first appeared in the pages of Marvel Comics' The Amazing Spider-Man as "Black Cat", movie star Linda Turner first appeared in comic books published by Harvey Comics using that identity.
------------------------------------------------------------------
First appearance: Pocket Comics #1 (August 1941)

NOTE: As the name "Pocket Comics" may suggest, it was actually a smaller-sized magazine than your typical comic book of the time.

The following pages reproduced are (mostly) taken from Speed Comics #17 (cover-dated April 1942) where Linda's feature found a new home after the last issue of Pocket Comics (#4).

Black Cat's origin story from Pocket Comics #1 was reformatted and reprinted in Speed Comics #17, then a new adventure of the Black Cat appeared in issue #18.

Surely she have a nice origin story, I love cats a lot, too! Very Happy Cool cat
Uk publisher PS Artbooks is reprinting a lot of pre-code material from Ace Magazines, Fawcett, Harvey, St. John, Standard Comics, Superior Comics, Ziff Davis and others; as for Black Cat,  they have reprinted so far four volumes (even in a version with slipcase!) with stories taken from Black Cat Mistery, which came in the early Fifties:

After 1951, I'm not sure how often the character of the Black Cat was featured in the stories published in Black Cat Mystery Comics.
