NOTE: The pages for this story are from a reprint that was in Justice League of America #95 (December 1971)

Y'know, that bit with owl towards the top of page four seems a bit . . . familiar . . .

His first appearance and he doesn't even make the cover, poor bastard. Just about sums up his career.

Hell, he was in a book that starred Green Lantern.
The Flash and Hawkman may have alternated covers on Flash Comics, but in general Alan Scott was going to be featured on almost all the All-American Comics covers from when he first appeared (issue #16) until the introduction of the Western version of Johnny Thunder (issue #100).
Issue #102 was the last issue of All-American Comics (which did include a Dr. Mid-Nite story),Golden Age Dr. Mid-Nite (Dr. Charles McNider) Dr_mid34
and starting with issue #103 the title became All-American Western.

Oh, and glancing through covers on the GCD site, the ones where Green Lantern wasn't the main feature after issue #16 were:
* #47 (February 1943), when Hop Harrigan was spotlighted:

NOTE: Harrigan had been a feature in All-American Comics before Green Lantern had his first appearance.

* #77 (September 1946) with Hop Harrigan again
* #79 (November 1946) and #83 (March 1947), both of which had Mutt & Jeff (who began as newspaper comic strip characters)

Issue #99 focused more on "Streak (The Wonder Dog)", who had been included in the Green Lantern feature back in issue #96, but Green Lantern was (barely) still a part of that cover.

Streak the Wonder Dog was regarded as a more significant character than Dr Mid-Nite...
