Golden Age The Falcon (Carl Burgess)
Happy 80th Anniversary to Marvel's first The Falcon!
First appearance: Daring Mystery Comic #5 (June 1940)
It looks like The Falcon made two other appearances as a feature back in the Golden Age before vanishing.
In Daring Mystery Comic #6 (September 1940):
and in Human Torch #2 (Fall 1940):
The Falcon even rated a half-page entry in the Marvel Mystery Handbook: 70th Anniversary Special (2009),
but that entry lists his first appearance as Human Torch Comics #2 (1940).
However, the Grand Comics Database (GCD) lists an on-sale date for Human Torch #2 as "1940-09-25", while Daring Mystery Comic #5 has an on-sale date listed as "1940-04-11", which is five months earlier.
