DC’S INFINITE FRONTIER #0 BRINGS TOGETHER THE BEST CREATIVE TALENT IN COMICS TO INTRODUCE THE NEXT PHASE OF THE DC UNIVERSE!
64-Page One-Shot Presents Infinite Possibilities for the World’s Greatest Super Heroes on March 2, 2021
The DC Universe enters its next phase this March with the release of Infinite Frontier #0, a 64-page one-shot from the most creative and innovative storytellers in comics that sets the table for new tales, talent, and characters for 2021 and beyond.
As Dark Nights: Death Metal exposes our heroes to the Multiverse’s darkest threats and DC Future State provides a glimpse into possible futures of the DC Universe, this blockbuster one-shot propels our heroes into the current day and a world full of endless possibilities.
“Infinite Frontier #0 really feels like the beginning of a new era of DC Comics, a time when anything is possible,” said writer Joshua Williamson. “We’re taking the aftermath of Dark Nights: Death Metal and combining it with the best things we love as storytellers about the DC Universe, resulting in bold, fun, and exciting new directions. There are a lot of teases to new story lines, surprises, and mysteries for the year set up in Infinite Frontier #0 that you won’t want to miss.”
Featuring a dynamic primary cover by Dan Jurgens and Mikel Janín and an equally breathtaking card stock variant cover by John Timms, these stories will be delivered by some of the best talent in comics, including (among others):
* Joshua Williamson, Scott Snyder, and James Tynion IV with John Timms
* Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez
* Becky Cloonan and Michael W. Conrad with Alitha Martinez
* Geoff Johns and Todd Nauck
* Joshua Williamson and Alex Maleev
* James Tynion IV and Jorge Jimenez
* Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Jamal Igle
Infinite Frontier #0 will also serve as the catalyst for new can’t-miss series and story lines continuing throughout 2021:
* An unthinkable, unexpected attack by the Joker makes him the target of a worldwide dragnet with ex-cop Jim Gordon in hot pursuit in the ongoing series The Joker by James Tynion IV and Guillem March
* Spinning out of her breakout appearances in Future State: Wonder Woman and Future State: Superman/Wonder Woman, a young Yara Flor begins the search for her destiny and connection to the Amazons
* It’s orientation day at Titans Tower as Tim Sheridan and Rafa Sandoval introduce a new group of teen heroes (including the future Red X) to the original New Teen Titans, setting the table for the duo’s Teen Titans Academy series in March
* The adventures of the Justice League continue (beginning with Justice League #59), now written by Brian Michael Bendis with David Marquez, with new JL members, including Black Adam, Hippolyta, and Naomi
* Wonder Woman ventures into the "godsphere," creating an exciting new storyline by Becky Cloonan, Michael W. Conrad and Travis Moore, continuing in March's Wonder Woman #770
* Award-winning writer Geoff Johns and Todd Nauck tell an all-new Stargirl story
For fans wanting a gateway into the next great era of storytelling, this 64-page oversize one-shot is a guaranteed must-have for March pull lists. Priced at $5.99 for the main cover version and $6.99 for the card stock variant, this book will be available at all comic book stores and participating digital retailers on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
I did get a copy of this yesterday and read it. I won't say too much (yet) about the issue (in case anybody who's planning to buy it hasn't had a chance to do so yet), but I will say it felt to me like it was trying to be another DC Universe: Rebirth.
(Has it really been almost five years since that came out?)

I enjoyed it. It's made me particularly excited for the forthcoming Stargirl project.

If you're referring to the Stargirl comic book story, that's just a one-shot.tony ingram wrote:I enjoyed it. It's made me particularly excited for the forthcoming Stargirl project.

If you're referring to the television show, that I don't know anything about.

A copy of Infinite Frontier should be on the way right now, hopefully coming to me next days...

I think so, but....five years already?
Re: Infinite Frontier
Well, 2021 - 2016 = 5, and month-wise it's a difference between early March 2021 and late May 2016.Barry_Allen wrote:I think so, but....five years already?MajorHoy wrote: . . . but I will say it felt to me like it was trying to be another DC Universe: Rebirth.

- Spoiler:
- flashback to the Seven Soldiers of Victory showing the original seven, plus the promo image featuring a new SSOSV including the current Green Arrow and Speedy, and Ollie Queen's reference elsewhere in the issue to "memories returning"

Re: Infinite Frontier
The problem I have with combining the two Olivers/Green Arrows is that it severely messes with the ages and histories for both Oliver and Roy.tony ingram wrote:It's the one-shot I was referring to. From the, I suspect that DC have reinstated the Golden Age GA and Speedy and folded their histories into the modern versions, something I thought they should have done after the first Crisis.

Yes, we can use that bit about them being removed from the proper timeline for an unspecified period of time (see: 1972's Justice League of America #100-102), but then they would have become anachronisms compared to the other characters they had previously been just contemporaries of, like Sylvester Pemberton was when he first joined the JSA.
Also, this image from the past will also need to be retconned:

Re: Infinite Frontier
I think that's a fairly minor retcon, to be honest.

Re: Infinite Frontier
Another thing about Earth-1 Green Arrow in that story that would need to be retconned (if it isn't already!) is the bit where Oliver, Black Canary, and Johnny Thunder go back to rescue the Vigilante in an old West scenario:tony ingram wrote:I think that's a fairly minor retcon, to be honest.
That scene started to become a little weird in retrospect after the events of Justice League of America #219-220 in 1983.

Re: Infinite Frontier
All it needs is the removal of Green Arrow.

Yes, I was only a bit ironic / sad about time always passing too much fast...
Re: Infinite Frontier
Infinite Frontier 1 is due this week. I'm actually quite excited at the prospect! Please, DC, don't screw this one up...

I haven't been buying / reading it (still deciding if I might wait for a tpb collection instead), but for anybody who has been following it, was it worth it?

Re: Infinite Frontier
Well, I've been thoroughly enjoying it, though I won't get part six until later this week. Lots of focus on Alan Scott and his kids, callbacks to Infinity Inc, and my favourite DC bad guy, Psycho Pirate, has a big role. And Mr Bones is back in costume for the first time in over thirty years!
