You missed LOOK IN which was a girls mag (oir unisex) which had romance comics and video game character comics in it such as James Pond.
I can't help you either as last time I checked I was not a girl.

Are you sure you mean Look-In, HG? That was a TV based comic you'll find under 'science fiction & TV Tie-in titles'. Maybe you mean Look Alive?Hourglass wrote:You missed LOOK IN which was a girls mag (oir unisex) which had romance comics and video game character comics in it such as James Pond.

...it has to be Lady Penelope. Back in 65 (or was it 66? I'd better be careful as someone will knock me on the head with it...) in the, er, mid 60s when LP came out I was in a quandry. I wanted to buy it. I had the cash. But it was a girls' comic!!! But it was okay because I saw classmate (and first girl friend) Moira Lee with it and the free gift was a pink plastic rain hat with a Lady P mongram on it - saved! I bought it for my mum...

January 1966. Do you still have the pink plastic rain hat, Glenn?GBF wrote:...it has to be Lady Penelope. Back in 65 (or was it 66? Hmm, it'd be The Schoolgirls Own for me, i have a few annuals and they're really good. No issues of the weekly, though.
I also have one issue of a pocket library called "Schoolgirls Own Library", which seems largely unrelated, and came out a lot later, than The Schoolgirl's Own. The story in it is very well illustrated and written - it's kind of a bizarre amalgamation of the 60's with a Dickensianish tale of a corrupt, mean landlord trying to cheat a family out of thier ancestral home (a castle, naturally) because he wants to find the hidden rubies in it

No, it's not my vote! I was waiting for you to bump another comic off and put Tammy in its place!
If that's not posible though I'll cast my vote for "Jinty".

Up to you. Though if you want to cast a vote in the 'other' category, I'll now know it's for Tammy, which means it will count in Tammy's favour when I come to collate these votes.Melkur40 wrote:No, it's not my vote! I was waiting for you to bump another comic off and put Tammy in its place!

I take it that's another vote for Tammy in 'other'? I think this is likely to be reflected when the votes are tallied...happyhooker wrote:tony ingram wrote:Part 5 of the poll: girls comics. I'm going for Romeo, which I have an inexplicable fondness for...

Re: 05: Your All Time Favourite Comic: a Poll (category 5: Girls titles)
I managed to pick up a complete collection of Misty comics in fine to very fine condition a couple of years ago, including the three Holiday Specials at a car boot sale. Bought off a local woman, the original owner in her mid-40s and stacked in an ordinary cardboard box. I shan't say how much, but it was a a ridiculously low price that I actually offered more for them as I felt I was robbing her but she just wanted shot of them! And to think I came to the car boot a good two hours after the gates had opened (Sunday hangover)!
Saints alive, 'tis a brilliant publication. I'm surprised with the growing interests of female/teenage books and films such as Twilight, Hunger Games, witchcraft and all that fall into that genre, that Misty has not had a full reprint in volume form.
Some of these rights-holders really do not know what they have in their hands sometimes.

In over thirty five years of collecting, I have never seen a complete run of Misty! I have a grand total of ten issues and one annual-that was a good find. And you're right, a reprint volume would be a must buy for a lot of people, I suspect.
