He's a real oddball, that one, but you can't fault his integrity. Reminds me of a guy I know, just without the genius or the beard.

One of the things I don't get about the superhero fans who hate him is that the stories are about people fighting for ideals, but they hate a real person for doing the same...

I know! They're always like, "Well, it's a business" which is exactly what Lex Luthor would say but NEVER what Superman would say. Just because you wanna make money doesn't mean you have to be evil to do it, and, frankly, some of the things DC's done has been decidedly evil. Not just unethical, although there's plenty of that; actually EVIL.
