They aren't going to get the ratings back to where they were a few years ago as the way a large segment of the population chooses to watch TV has changed significantly since then with the rise of catch-up services. They must realise that, surely? It's not as though Doctor Who is the only example of the trend!

The cancelling of Being Human and two series of Survivors (not to mention the commissioning of rubbish like Outcasts, Bonekickers and The Deep) have proved to me that the BBC, like Jon Snow, knows nothing

Whilst it has become something of a ritual chez Shark to pronounce 'Jon Snow knows nothing' when the C4 news is announced. I was referring to the idiot from Game of Thrones.
