What current comic books do you normally buy / read?
Not sure if we have one of these (if we do, my apologies . . . point me in the right direction and I'll move my list there), but what new / current comic books are people normally buying these days?
For me (over here in the US), it's
DC:
* Batman ’66 Meets Green Hornet
* Batman Eternal
* Constantine
* Detective Comics
* Justice League Dark
* Wonder Woman
and a few others that either were cancelled, I recently dropped, or I'm still debating about
Marvel:
* All-New Invaders
plus several from Dark Horse, IDW, and Titan that I'm just recently trying and deciding on for the long-term or not.

My pull list has shrunk considerably since this topic was started, mostly due to lack of funds, but I'm still very dedicated to 2000 AD, the Megazine and Doctor Who Magazine, and quite addicted to Titan's line of Doctor Who titles. Also still reading Ms Marvel, Daredevil and the relaunched Thunderbolts. Sadly, Miracleman has seemingly vanished into limbo again...

Yeah, I was thinking about that over the weekend. Not sure what happened there.
My pull-list has dropped a LOT in the last year or so. Not much has really been keeping my interest. Too much of it reads like I've seen it before. But, there are still things that come out of nowhere to be fun.

Re: What current comic books do you normally buy / read?
I just looked back at my original (2014) post from this thread, and . . . I no longer am buying any of those titles!
I'm still figuring out what books I'll continue to buy on a regular basis these days (aside from Scooby-Doo! Team-Up from DC), but there also a few titles I buy from other publishers that aren't regular, on-going series.

Re: What current comic books do you normally buy / read?
Of the list I posted in 2014, the only American titles I'm still reading are Red Sonja and Dejah Thoris. Most of the others are no longer around, and I'm not buying any Marvel titles regularly anyway. But I have started picking up DC again, and a couple of new independents...

- - DC:
* Batman ’66 Meets Green Hornet - finished run
* Batman Eternal - finished run
* Constantine - finished that run; did not buy later runs
* Detective Comics - dropped, but depending on who takes it over in the future, . . .
* Justice League Dark - was dropped by DC a while back, but will start a new run in the near future (which I don't currently plan to buy, even with Doctor Fate as a member)
* Wonder Woman - dropped after the Azzarello/Chiang run ended, then bought it again for the Greg Rucka run during Rebirth. Dropped it (again) after James Robinson's first arc starring Jason (with guest appearances by Diana).
- - Marvel:
* All-New Invaders - they stopped publishing that in 2015

Actually, the new Hellblazer is pretty good, I think.

Aaaaaaaand, it looks like Johnny (well, at least his series) may not have much time left anyway.tony ingram wrote:Actually, the new Hellblazer is pretty good, I think.
Issue #24 (due out July 25th) is the last one DC has solicited at present.
(And they've already released solicitations for August.)
THE HELLBLAZER #24

- Spoiler:
What would you sacrifice to save someone from damnation? The final chapter of “The Good Old Days” puts what may be the final nail in John Constantine’s coffin: preparing to say goodbye to this mortal coil, John’s oddly introspective, brooding over an ex-lover who’s possessed by demons. Since she can’t be exorcised, she’s bound for Hell—unless John makes the ultimate sacrifice and takes her place. Pack light, John—we hear it’s warm where you’re going.

Maybe they're skipping a month (or two) for this title, but who knows?

Well, I can't see John being away from the comics for long since it looks as though the character is to become at least a semi-regular on the Legends of Tomorrow TV show. And Titans recently went on hiatus for a few months before returning with a new creative team, so...MajorHoy wrote:Aaaaaaaand, it looks like Johnny (well, at least his series) may not have much time left anyway.tony ingram wrote:Actually, the new Hellblazer is pretty good, I think.

To piss off Alan Moore? To "honor" him?

Why are they like this? Talk about embracing the 'all big businesses are evil' stereotype!
