Doctor Who Cleans Up at the SFX Awards
Doctor Who won five awards at the 2010 SFX Awards this this week!
Best TV show: Doctor Who (accepted by Steven Moffat on behalf of the show)
Best Actor: Matt Smith
Best Actress: Karen Gillan
SFX Sci-Fi Phenomenon: Doctor Who
and the award for Best Collectible Model or Toy: the 11 Doctors action figure set!
Who needs the NTA's, anyway?

They've been complaining on GB that that means it's going back to the geeks.

Anything that upsets the GB hivemind is fine by me!
The BBC's remit is to provide programming for all interests and tastes, so if Doctor Who is becoming less populist (as opposed to less popular) but renewing its connection to the actual SF fans in the audience, then they are doing their job as far as I can see.

I couldn't agree more.
But you know what they're like.

Insecure and curiously self loathing, forever insisting that 'it's not being made for us', as I recall...codywillis1 wrote:I couldn't agree more.

Quite right too. It should be made for people who'd rather be watching Ant & Dec anyway.

I thought it was being made for people who'd rather watch Graham Norton, hence his frequent guest appearances.codywillis1 wrote:Quite right too. It should be made for people who'd rather be watching Ant & Dec anyway.
