Two More Lost Episodes Found! Empty Two More Lost Episodes Found!

The Doctor Who News Page reported today that two more previously missing episodes of classic Who have been recovered. The second episode of The Underwater Menace and the third episode of the previously totally missing Galaxy Four were both apparently discovered in the possession of former TVS engineer Terry Burnett, who bought them at a school fete in the 1980s. An announcement from 2Entertain about the release of the two episodes is expected next year. Very Happy

For some reason, I keep remembering a certain interview some years ago, in which a certain uber fan stated firmly "I believe there will always be 110 episodes missing". Razz

"Galaxy Four" Certainly very interesting! Perhaps-finally Fans might see a `Rill` for first time since 1965!

"Underwater Menace" For me - not as electrifying-though its great that an episode has been found; but its possibly the weakest of the Troughton stories. I'd have been over the Moon had it been an episode from "Fury From The Deep"

I actually like The Underwater Menace a lot, I think Zarroff is just such a great villain, and I've always liked Ben and Polly.

Was `Zaroff` reincarnated as `Soldeen` in the "Horns of Nimon"?

Joseph Furst is apparently an extremely accomplished, excellent actor. Which means he knew PRECISELY what he was doing with Zaroff ROFL!

He played him in the very best tradition of the ranting Bond villain I think (before that tradition was really established, too!). Thinking about it, Doctor Who has had rather less mad scientists over the years than it might have been expected to. Plenty of blinkered and misguided ones, but very few mad ones.
