But what initially seems like another "scientist-goes-bonkers-when-his-experiment-backfires-on-him " story isn't quite as straight-forward as it first appears.
Here's a summary from Batman Family #11 (May-June 1977):

Oh, and this wasn't the first time Batman encountered a man with no face.
