My Sarah Jane
Just watched the tribute to Lis Sladen on CBBC, and I found it incredibly moving. Anyone else watch?

A fitting tribute. Quite amazing the amount of people lining up to pay their respects and speak about Liz.
I think more than anything this programme brings home the impact this woman had on different generations. Showing clips from The Time Warrior, Invasion Of The Dinosaurs, The Hand Of Fear etc will bring it all back for the parents of kids who today love SJA, and they (the kids) in years to come will look back on clips of that show with as much love and affection I have for the older stuff.
An apt tribute for a woman who managed to convey a certain something, I'd describe it as a warmth, to millions of viewers that they could take to, and relate to. Rather than finding it moving in a sad way, I found this warmth of her character, and of Liz herself, to shine through from the affection and the happiness of the people who remembered her.

It's so great that she won a whole new generation of fans in her final years. Just a shame it was so brief. I hope she realized how much she was loved.

Yeah, I'd like to think the love shined through. As a society, we're sometimes not very good at telling other people just how good, how great, they are while they're still around, and sometimes you don't realise what you've got till its gone.
But I think, or I'd like to think, there was enough general consensus among the Who community when she was alive to register the fact to her that her portrayal of Sarah Jane was something special to a lot of people.
