Horror comic book hosts?
With Halloween / All Hallows' Eve not that far down the road, I thought maybe a discussion of horror / suspense / mystery comic book hosts might be worthwhile?
Probably the classic examples here in the US are the hosts from the old EC comic books of the 1950s: The Vault of Horror, The Haunt of Fear, and Tales from the Crypt.
Other US comic book companies also had their share of spooky comic book hosts, but I'll see if anybody else wants to share / post some before I add those to a discussion.

Re: Horror comic book hosts?
I am still trying to locate my back issues (I can't find anything in this place) but since I can't scan an image, I will just mention Misty. Misty was the host of a horror comic for girls, called (imaginatively enough) Misty published in the UK in the 1970s. She was a dippy bird in a floaty dress who hung out by the enchanted pool in the Cavern of Dreams, telling spooky stories to prepubescent schoolgirls. Neil Gaiman would have loved her!
